Manuela and Ron's Scotland Holiday

So we finally have decided that we are going to Scotland, where else, and here is our itinerary
We leave on may the 11th and travel with a luxury cruise ferry from Rotterdam to Hull to arrive the 12th. We than travel over Carlisle and Glasgow to Kintyre and we stay in Rhu House. We stayed here last year as well and liked it a lot. They serve great breakfast! Kintyre is actually a great area to visit and Tarbert is such a beautiful fishing town. There are some fine restaurants as well. Ideal for a stop.
On saturday the 13th we take the Calmac ferry from Kennacraig to Port Askaig and we will arrive in the afternoon.
Our stay on Islay will be in Lyndon Cottage situated in the outskirts of Ballygrant opposite Loch Laggan. Actually an area of Islay we have to discover yet.
I have to make a lot of pictures for the Islay Info website and of course visit the Islay Quilters, Persabus Pottery and much more. We might even buy ourselves a Quilt. I have heard the Islay Quilters make and sell some of these Quilts for a good cause. Have to check on that though.
The second week we go back to the mainland and stay a week in the Scottish Borders near Innerleithen. From there we will finally visit Edinburgh and Dumfries. And of course exploring the Scottish Borders. Visit the house of Sir Walter Scott, Tracquir House, the fantastic Abbeys and visit the beautiful border town like Melrose, Peebles etc.
Saturday the 27th of may we sadly go back again to arrive in Rotterdam on sunday. Monday will be the first and horrible working day
Last week we actually already decided to join the Islay walking week next year. Must be wonderful to walk all over the island and see the places we have never been before. Maybe even stay on Islay for two weeks. Hmm cant wait :-)
