Seaplanes from Glasgow to The Highlands and Islands
Thursday, November 30 2006
Starting in spring 2007, daily flights will take off from Glasgow's River Clyde, near the old Govan shipyards in the heart of the city, to destinations in the Scottish Highlands, cutting journey times from hours to minutes.
The company, Loch Lomond SeaPlanes, owned by David West, a 49 year airline pilot with 30 years' experience, will offer journeys in amphibious seaPlanes to remote parts of the Scottish Highlands. The destinations are the Isles of Arran, Bute, Mull, Skye and Jura, as well as Oban, Crinan, Tighnabruaich and Campbeltown. The service allows "destination hopping", which will give travellers the freedom to hop on and off where they like. The company also offer half-hour and one-hour flight tours over the west coast, Trossachs and Highlands.
