Sir Walter Scotts Viewpoint or Scotts View in the Scottish Borders
Tuesday, August 08 2006
As a follow up on the previous story I thought i'd post a picture of Sir Walter Scott's favorite place in the Scottish Borders, also known as Scott's View. This is a place he visited regularly and the story goes that on the day of his funeral the horses that were carrying his coffin stopped for the last time at this viewpoint because they were used to. The view is wonderful indeed and is located close to Dryburgh Abbey between Bemersyde and Redpath at the B6356.
The weather at the time when we visited the viewpoint wasn't great and only moments later we had a rainshower, so I was lucky to even take this picture. You can see the rainshower coming in on the right!
